Abbey Wilson

Director of Marketing & Communications

Abbey joined Michigan Community Capital in 2020 to focus on marketing and real estate programming. As the company has grown, she has since advanced to the role of Director of Marketing and Communications. In this expanded capacity, Abbey leads the strategic marketing initiatives for MCC and its managed properties, overseeing press relations and company branding. She plays a pivotal role in MCC’s developments, ensuring that each property’s branding is meticulously crafted and consistently applied.

As MCC has expanded, Abbey’s responsibilities have also evolved. She now works closely with the policy and impacts team, aligning marketing efforts with broader organizational goals and community impact strategies.

Abbey’s career began while she was still a student at Michigan State University, interning with the Community Assistance Team at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). Her skills and dedication quickly led her to a position in the Marketing Department at MEDC, where she worked alongside the Pure Michigan tourism campaign and the Michigan Film Office. She later applied her expertise in property events, recreation, public relations, and marketing at northern Michigan resorts, including Boyne Resorts, Crystal Mountain, and Bay Harbor.
Abbey is driven by a passion for effective communication, real estate, and community service—particularly her advocacy for rescue dogs. She is also an avid learner, continuously seeking to expand her knowledge through various programming and construction projects.

Abbey holds a degree in Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism, with a specialization in Leisure Business and Marketing, from Michigan State University. She is also a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of Michigan.
